MATT KREFTING / BILL NACE DUO (Western Mass)
MATT KREFTING is a writer and musician based in Holyoke, Massachusetts. He is a regular contributor to The Wire and his written work appears in Surround, Bull Tongue Review, The Huffington Post, and chapbooks of his work have been published by Kendra Steiner Editions and Glass Eye Books. Another Night on the Town, a collection of Krefting’s poems with drawings by Belgian artist Dennis Tyfus, was published in 2014 by Ultra Eczema.
He formed the long-running trio Son of Earth with Aaron Rosenblum and John Shaw in 2000, played bass in The Believers, and performs with Idea Fire Company and Orchid Spangiafora. He performs his own music for cassettes regularly in the United States and in Europe. His music has been released by Open Mouth, Ultra Eczema, Ecstatic Peace!, and Kye, among others.

BILL NACE is one of the premiere avant-garde guitarists active today. He has one of the most personal and unique pallets of sound ever to be culled from an electric guitar. Nace creates a distinct, mind-bending cacophony and focuses his textures with intense precision and control. He works under various guises (x.0.4 with Jake Meginsksy and John Truscinski, a duo with Paul Flaherty, Northampton Wools with Thurston Moore, and Ceylon Mange with Dylan Nyoukis and Karen Constance) and his own name.

JOE BASTARDO is a graphic artist and musician from Worcester, Massachusetts. He plays in the groups Looks Realistic, Gay Shapes, and LAN. Ice Joke is a new project with Mickey O’Hara. Solo excursions are recorded as Bastian Void and Homeowner. He has released albums on Digitalis, Orange Milk Records, Beer On The Rug, Field Hymns and Constellation Tatsu. Joseph also operates the experimental music imprint Moss Archive. His pieces are assembled with analog/digital synthesis and found-sound manipulation. Recent performances are based on improvisations with a modular synthesizer.

MICKEY O'HARA is a musician from Worcester, Massachusetts. He plays in free-bloop duo LEAN and noistronaut trio GAY SHAPES, works & curates at the Firehouse, and co-hosts the freeform experimental radio show Music Under The Moon. His solo work has been released on the Moss Archive and Ayurvedic labels. In the past, he has used tape, samples, and feedback systems to create his music.
