Mitchel Ahern (Swampscott, MA)

Mitchel Ahern is a print maker, performance artist and sound sculptor. He will be performing on two of his invented instruments: the Swamp Thing Two, and The Harrow. Swamp Thing Two is built on a broken DJ turntable, with rotating micromallets building cyclical rhythmic structures from magnetized toys and objects. This performance introduces The Harrow, a heavy disc off of farm machinery mounted to a cello like body and played with bow and mallets. Mitchel will be performing selections from two upcoming gallery happenings: Plan 9 From Outer Space, and Second Civil War featuring letterpress banners on fabric of Heroes of IICW.

Axemunkee (Boston, MA)

Axemunkee is a Boston-based, instrumental rock group featuring the guitar wizardry of Catherine Capozzi. Capozzi is nothing less than a guitar goddess, a girl who can shred with the best of the boys — a fact well-known in Boston since her work in the late ’90s and early ’00s with the band All the Queen’s Men, then later with the Edith Piaf tribute band, Ziaf.
